EWU Library has successfully arranged 10 days digital library course A digital library course was organized by the EWU Library from 11 to 24 February, 2015 at the request of Bank and Financial Institution Division, Ministry of Finance for the officials of the banking sector of Bangladesh. Twenty officials (Library & IT) from ten Governments and Autonomous Banks of Bangladesh, participated in this course. The training covered Digital Library Overview, Library Management Software: Koha, Greenstone Digital Library Software and MARC21 Cataloguing. Fresher’s orientation program for newly enrolled Student at EWU The orientation programs of the newly admitted students for Spring Semester 2015 in different academic programs of East West University were held at the University, at Aftabnagar, Dhaka on January 08, 2015. More than 1400 students got admitted in the graduate and undergraduate programs in this semester. Each Department arranged individual program for their newly admitted students. EWU signs MoU with Macquarie University for education and academic exchanges In order to promote education and research, a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between East West University (EWU) and Macquarie University of Australia was signed at the Vice-Chancellor's (VC's) Office on the EWU campus on 8 January 2015.
EWU Vice Chancellor (Acting) Prof. Dr. M. Sekander Hayat Khan and Macquarie University Deputy Vice-Chancellor James KW Lee signed this MoU on behalf of their respective institutions.

Free Online Psychological Counselling by EWUESC East West University Environment and Social Club (EWUESC) has started a service through a psychological counseling group for the students. The name of the program is “Mind Gym".
Now a days many students are suffering from different kinds of psychological problems. Mostly the university students are having these sorts of problems. A student can face different psychological problems which they can't even share with surrounding people. These problems are hampering their academic activities very badly. Many of them even try to commit suicide or get addicted.

President Md. Abdul Hamid urges the youth at the 14th Convocation of EWU to execute their responsibilities towards the country At the 14th Convocation of East west University, Md. Abdul Hamid, Honorable President of the People's Republic of Bangladesh and Chancellor of East West University, addressed the graduating students and indicated that, in addition to earning them certificates, their degrees will also bestow responsibilities towards society, the country and the nation. He urged them to perform these responsibilities through their endeavor and spirit of patriotism in the coming days. He also said that a career is not the only objective of education; the real goal of education is to ensure honesty, justice and patriotism in each sphere of life. Besides, President Md. Abdul Hamid stressed on more effective measures to be taken by the universities themselves to ensure a better quality of higher studies in the country. The convocation ceremony took place at East West University’s own campus at Aftabnagar on Thursday evening.
