Pi-Day Celebration by EWU Electronics Club EWU Electronics Club (EWUEC) celebrated Pi-Day with a huge festive mood at the EWU campus on March 18, 2014. All the members of EWUEC and interested students of EEE and other departments participated in the celebration. The program was started with a Pi-Day rally at 9:45am where a huge crowd joined the rally. Dr. Gurudas Mandal, Chairperson & Associate Professor, Department of ECE was the invited guest of the program. He, along with all the students started the rally from the WiFi zone of the campus and after a round in the campus corridor and Aftabnagar road it ended in the starting place. After the rally Dr. Gurudas Mandal with all the students cut the Pi cake and celebrated the Pi-Day. The members of Electronics Club later made a human Pi in the open ground space. EWU Agro Industrialization Club visits Pran Industrial Park Agro Industrialization Club (AIC) of East West University paid a visit to PRAN industrial Park (PIP) which is located at Palash, Narsingdi on 1st March 2014. The objective of the tour was to enhance the knowledge on agro-based industry of Bangladesh and also to introduce business students with the technology of production system. Mr. Mahbubul Haque Khan, Senior Lecturer, Department of Business Administration, EWU, presented the research paper. In his presentation, Mr. Haque stated that in general Dhaka Stock Exchange seems to be weak for efficiency. It is one of the main reasons why very few technical studies have been conducted about DSE trade rules. He found in his study that short length moving averages can significantly outperform for buy and hold strategy. It also signals the return predictability of trading rules in the Dhaka Stock Exchange market.
