EWU Library has successfully arranged 10 days digital library course
A digital library course was organized by the EWU Library from 11 to 24 February, 2015 at the request of Bank and Financial Institution Division, Ministry of Finance for the officials of the banking sector of Bangladesh. Twenty officials (Library & IT) from ten Governments and Autonomous Banks of Bangladesh, participated in this course. The training covered Digital Library Overview, Library Management Software: Koha, Greenstone Digital Library Software and MARC21 Cataloguing. This training course was conducted in a hands-on and interactive way.

EWU observed International Mother Language Day
East West University Club for Performing Arts (ECPA) observed The Martyrs' Day and the International Mother Language Day on 21st February 2015 through various programs titled 'Jagroto Ekush'. The programs included placing wreaths and paying tribute at the Temporary Shaheed Minar, offering patriotic song, staging drama and an exhibition of posters, banners and 3-D architectures which have been created on the base of Language Movement.

EWU Debating Club successfully organized a national level debate contest
East West University Debating Club organized a national level debate competition as a part of ‘EWU Debate Spree’15. Fifty Six teams from different educational institutions of the country have participated in this competition.

Department of Law of EWU attended a discussion session at the American Centre
Following an invitation from U.S. Embassy the students of the Department of Law of East West University attended a discussion session at the American Centre on 25/1/2015. The discussion was held on President Obama’s sixth State of the Union Address. The U.S. President is required to deliver this speech every year under Article II, Section 3 of the U.S. Constitution.

National Mobile Apps Trainer & Apps Development Program Inaugurated at EWU
Information and Communication Technology Division and EATL (Ethics Advanced Technology Ltd) inaugurated, “National Mobile Apps Trainer and Creative Apps Development” at East West University (EWU) on 14th February 2015. This program aims to establish mobile app developers and trainers and its goal is to build 500 apps.

EWU signs MoU with Macquarie University for education and academic exchanges
In order to promote education and research, a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between East West University (EWU) and Macquarie University of Australia was signed at the Vice-Chancellor's (VC's) Office on the EWU campus on 8 January 2015.
EWU Vice Chancellor (Acting) Prof. Dr. M. Sekander Hayat Khan and Macquarie University Deputy Vice-Chancellor James KW Lee signed this MoU on behalf of their respective institutions.

Participation of Department of Law of EWU in Bilateral Dialogue on Human Trafficking at American Club Dhaka
Ten students from Department of Law of EWU were invited by United States Department of Justice to attend a bilateral dialogue on Human Trafficking at American Club Dhaka on February 18, 2015. The US Ambassador Marcia S. Bernicat opened the program stating that the United States is committed to work together with Bangladesh in order to eradicate human trafficking.

Fresher’s orientation program for newly enrolled Student at EWU
The orientation programs of the newly admitted students for Spring Semester 2015 in different academic programs of East West University were held at the University, at Aftabnagar, Dhaka on January 08, 2015. More than 1400 students got admitted in the graduate and undergraduate programs in this semester. Each Department arranged individual program for their newly admitted students. The objective of the program was to welcome the new students and orient them to the university facilities, faculty members and academic system.
