Fresher’s orientation program for newly enrolled Student at EWU The orientation programs of the newly admitted students for Spring Semester 2015 in different academic programs of East West University were held at the University, at Aftabnagar, Dhaka on January 08, 2015. More than 1400 students got admitted in the graduate and undergraduate programs in this semester. Each Department arranged individual program for their newly admitted students. Grant of HEQEP Project for the Department of Applied Statistics The office of the Higher Education Quality Enhancement project of the University Grants Commission of Bangladesh awarded an Academic Innovation Fund (AIF III) of Tk. 150 lakh under the HEQEP sub project titled : Covariate Dependent Models for Correlated Outcomes in Longitudinal Data Analysis ( CP- 3293) to the Department of Applied Statistics, EWU. Wall Presentation The department of Applied Statistics arranged a field trip to Comilla for 3 days and 2 nights (26th-28th June, 2014) for conducting a survey on Socio-Economic Status of individuals living in a Rural Area of Bangladesh. With the help and guidance of Prof. Dr. M. Mosleh Uddin, Advisor and coordinator, department of Applied Statistics and Member, BoT, EWU, The Chairperson of the department, Prof. Dr. M. Ataharul Islam, along with 3 faculty members, Farzana Jahan, Lecturer, MHM Imrul Kabir, Lecturer, Afsana Al Sharmin, Lecturer and two graduate teaching Assistants, Kazi Md. Farhad Mahmud and Borhan Siddiqa guided 54 students in the fieldsites to conduct the survey. This large team started for survey from EWU campus on June 26, 2014 morning. The accommodation for students and teachers were arranged in Comilla BARD. The students received training on the conference room of BARD to learn about the methods to conduct the survey. The next day, students, divided into four groups, each supervised by faculty members and GTA went to the field site a village named “Barai” in Laksam Upazilla. They collected information from 85 households selected by students themselves using simple random sampling using the existent sampling frame of the village. Participation of Department of Law of EWU in Bilateral Dialogue on Human Trafficking at American Club Dhaka Ten students from Department of Law of EWU were invited by United States Department of Justice to attend a bilateral dialogue on Human Trafficking at American Club Dhaka on February 18, 2015. EWU signs MoU with Macquarie University for education and academic exchanges In order to promote education and research, a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between East West University (EWU) and Macquarie University of Australia was signed at the Vice-Chancellor's (VC's) Office on the EWU campus on 8 January 2015.
EWU Vice Chancellor (Acting) Prof. Dr. M. Sekander Hayat Khan and Macquarie University Deputy Vice-Chancellor James KW Lee signed this MoU on behalf of their respective institutions.

Free Online Psychological Counselling by EWUESC East West University Environment and Social Club (EWUESC) has started a service through a psychological counseling group for the students. The name of the program is “Mind Gym".
Now a days many students are suffering from different kinds of psychological problems. Mostly the university students are having these sorts of problems. A student can face different psychological problems which they can't even share with surrounding people. These problems are hampering their academic activities very badly. Many of them even try to commit suicide or get addicted.
