Internship Placement: Students who are going to complete their graduation requirement apply to the CCC of East West University and the center provides them with suitable internship opportunities.

 

Job Placement: Both part-time and full-time job placement facilities are provided through the career counseling center. Continuing students are provided with the on-campus job recruitment and part-time job facilities. On the other hand, graduates are provided with full time & permanent placement facilities to renowned nationals and multinational organizations.

 

Arranging workshops & seminars: Beside the placement function Career Counseling center is also involved in arranging workshops and seminars to drill practice on resume writing, interviewing techniques, job search skills and presentation techniques.

 

Training Program: CCC also organized training program for students, staffs and faculty members and also for the students.

 

Training or Consultation Services for Faculty and Staff:

CCC is planning to conduct motivational program, development and skill program for the faculty and management staff.

 

Arrange Competition: In order to promote East University to the corporate houses and to uplift its images CCC arranged screening of the students for the formation of the Battle of Mind team.                             

   

Job Fair & Career Fair: Career Counseling Center organizes Job Fair and Education Fair that promotes East West University to the potential students.

 

Trade Fair: Not only promoting East West University to nationals and multinational organizations, CCC also promotes the university to foreign corporation and exposes some of the selected students to the professional life by arranging and participating in the trade fair.

 

Intra Networking: The Career Counseling Center keeps close relationship with all departments. The Departmental Committee nominates and selects faculty instructors for internship evaluation and guidance. CCC will maintain databases of organizations, students and educational institutions.

 

Graduate Database/Profile: CCC makes a graduate profile each semester and sends it to organization so that employer can choose their suitable candidates instantly.

 

Employer Database: CCC maintains a database of employer who contacted with CCC or CCC contacted to organization.

 

Linkage with Job Portal: CCC has established linkage with largest job portal in Bangladesh, bdjobs.com to help extend job services to EWU graduates.

 

Company Visit: CCC personnel visit different organization to build up a better relationship and speak on the job opportunities in those organizations.

 

Relationship Development: The Career Counseling Center tries to build a new relationship with corporate world and other eminent personalities.

 

Career planning: CCC helps a student plan and organizes their major and career goals.

 

Individual Counseling: Occasionally, students encounter situations that affect their learning environment. CCC provides an atmosphere where individuals are able to develop self-knowledge, problem solving skills, and coping strategies. CCC can help you resolve personal difficulties and learn more about yourself. Such as-Adjusting to a new environment, Choices about majors and careers Communication with instructors, Difficulties with study skills Time management, Motivation, Anger and interpersonal conflicts, Depression, loneliness, shyness, Grief and loss, Self-esteem and self-confidence Sexual issues and decisions, Alcohol and drug related problems, Personal crises.

 

Study Abroad Program: Graduate study abroad information packages, which contain information of the admission procedure of universities in USA, UK, Japan and Australia. A career library containing, brochures and application materials from many universities abroad having all the relevant information, for the students and graduates.  The library also has official books that aid in the preparation for GMAT, GRE, SAT and TOEFL. The library also keeps official bulletins of GMAT, GRE, SAT and TOEFL. And also maintain addresses of US universities and colleges along with e-mail addresses.

 

Information on transfer colleges and universities: The credits obtained at EWU are accepted in respectable universities of Europe, North America, Australia and other countries. And we also accept transfer students of any renowned colleges or universities based on their merit.

Student Motivation: Many factors affect a given student's motivation to work interest in the subject matter, perception of its usefulness, general desire to achieve, self-confidence and self-esteem, as well as patience and persistence. And, of course, not all students are motivated by the same values, needs, desires, or wants. Some of your students will be motivated by the approval of others, some by overcoming challenges.

To encourage students to become self-motivated independent learners, instructors can do the following:

• Give frequent, early, positive feedback that supports students' beliefs that they can do well.
• Ensure opportunities for students' success by assigning tasks that are neither too easy nor too difficult.
• Help students find personal meaning and value in the material.
• Create an atmosphere that is open and positive.
• Help students feel that they are valued members of a learning community.

Career Development Classes: This class is specifically designed for continuing education students who want a theoretical and practical study of the career planning process applied to their interests, abilities, goals, academic discipline, and fields of interest. Focus is on self-assessment, development of career and life plan, and projects and techniques relating to personal career search and career management.

 

On Campus Interviewing: On-campus interviewing is an excellent way for candidates to meet prospective employers who have entry-level positions available.  Hundreds of organizations recruit on campus each year for full-time entry level positions and internships in management, marketing, sales, accounting, actuarial science, and teaching.  Many employers interview students with any major.

 

Alumni Association: Career Counseling Center dreams and believes that one day the graduates and the former students will be creating opportunities for the current students. The ex-students of East West University will be having a network among them so they can pull each other out in trouble and share each others joy. In order to achieve the dream Career Counseling Center has started to work on creating a database of the ex-students, where they are placed etc.

 

Today, Career Counseling Center of East West University takes the pride of maintaining its functions efficiently and effectively.
