The orientation program of the newly admitted students for Spring 2010 in MBA, EMBA, MBM and MDS programs of East West University, was held at the university auditorium on 14 January 2010 at 6:00 p.m. Professor Dr. Mohammed Sharif, Vice Chancellor, East West University, graced the occasion as the Chief Guest. Dean, Faculty of Business and Economics and Coordinator of Graduate Studies (MBA, EMBA & MBM), Professor Dr. Nazrul Islam, chaired the session. A total number of 179 students enrolled in different graduate programs in MBA, Executive MBA, MBM and Master in Development Studies.
As Chief Guest of the program, Professor Dr. Mohammed Sharif, Vice Chancellor,
advised students to be well-equipped with proper education and knowledge to become worthy citizens of the country. He mentioned availability of merit scholarships and financial assistances of the University for students especially coming from middle-class family to support their study at EWU. He also urged students to make the best use of the facilities the university provides.
Dean, Faculty of Business and Economics and Coordinator of Graduate Studies (MBA, EMBA & MBM), Professor Dr. Nazrul Islam and Program Chair, welcomed the newcomers to become a member of the EWU family. He stressed on modern learning in order to face the challenges of the corporate sector. Dr. Islam highlighted the maximum use of existing support facilities of the university. He also mentioned some important rules of the University which are very important to the new students to study at EWU.
Among others, Professor Dr. Humayun Kabir Chowdhury, Chairperson, Department of Business Administration, Professor Dr. Muhammad Sirajul Haque, Chairperson, Department of Economics and Colonel Shah Murtoza Ali (Retd.), Registrar, EWU, also spoke on the occasion. Mr. Ujjal Chowdhury, Vice-President of MBA Club, delivered speech on behalf of graduate students. Ms. Munmun Jahan, an MBA graduate gave a presentation on the Graduate Programs and the East West University. The program was anchored by Mr. Muzahidul Islam, an MBA student of EWU and newsreader in ETV. The program was followed by refreshments.
