Dr. Mohammad Kamruzzaman Talukder is an Earthquake Engineering specialist. He has been accredited by the Institute of Engineers Bangladesh (IEB) as an Engineer. He is educated at the prestigious Notre Dame College where he completed HSC with 86.2% marks and 'Perfect Attendance Certificate'. He then enrolled at the country's top engineering university BUET, from where he obtained BSc in Civil Engineering with specialization in Structural & Geotechnical Engineering. Soon after his graduation with 1st class engineering degree from BUET, he was recruited by DPHE of Bangladesh Government as Assistant Engineer to work for the Bangladesh Water Supply Program. After serving the program, he then flew to Canada on a winter evening for North American education in Earthquake Engineering.
Dr. Talukder obtained his Master's degree from the famous institution: Memorial University of Newfoundland in the field of vibrations of structural foundations. He did not just stop there. He continued his journey from the eastern coast to the western part of Canada on a cool sunny day, and reached the green yard of top ranked prestigious McGill University, from where he obtained his PhD degree in the field of mathematical simulations of ground motion amplifications during earthquake. Both his PhD and Master's theses are well cited in the academia of Canada.
Upon successful completion of higher studies at Canadian universities with Full Scholarship and Award, Dr. Talukder traveled back to Dhaka on a hot and humid morning of summer to join EWU for serving the engineering students and consulting companies. He reads newspapers, plays badminton and rides bicycle. At leisure, he goes to his village where he was born.
