Dr. Nazia Hoque is an active teaching professional who has served several universities of Bangladesh for more than 13 years with utmost sincerity and dedication. Currently, she is working as an Associate Professor in the Department of Pharmacy, East West University, Dhaka, Bangladesh. Besides, she is working as the Convener of the Graduate In-plant Training Program Committee of Department of Pharmacy. Dr. Hoque has completed her PhD in Pharmaceutical Sciences from Jahangirnagar University, Dhaka in collaboration with Bangladesh Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (BCSIR), Dhaka, Bangladesh. She has completed her B. Pharm and MS in Pharmaceutical Sciences from Department of Pharmacy, Jahangirnagar University, Dhaka, Bangladesh. Her primary research interests are in the field of natural products and studies on antioxidant, cytotoxic, antimicrobial, antidiabetic, antinociceptive and anti-inflammatory activities of Bangladeshi medicinal plants. Dr. Hoque has intensive interest in isolation and characterization of bioactive compounds and endophytic fungi from fresh medicinal plants of Bangladesh followed by their extraction and isolation of various bioactive compounds. In addition to teaching, she is extensively involved with different research works which is evident from her several publications in different International and national peer reviewed journals and conference proceedings. Furthermore, she has presented her research outcomes in several national and International conferences with appreciation and achieved prestigious ‘Young Ethno-pharmacologist Award’ for best oral presentation in 18th International Congress of International Society for Ethnopharmacology, held in Dhaka, Bangladesh. Recently, Dr. Hoque has been awarded a research grant from the Center for Research and Training of East West University (EWUCRT) to conduct research on 'Secondary metabolites of endophytic fungi associated with medicinal plants of Bangladesh' where she is acting as the Principal Investigator (PI).
