Syed Mahmudur Rahman works as a senior lecturer at East West University. He joined this university in 2015.
He earned his second Master of Arts degree in 2021, in Literature, from the School of Arts and Humanities, the University of Texas at Dallas. He did his BA (Honors) and first MA in English, both from Jahangirnagar University, Bangladesh.

His areas of interest include postmodern literary forms and theories, postcolonial literature, and media-literature.
