Webinar Workshop on “Capacity Building in Outcome-Based Education (OBE) Teaching Methods” on Saturday, 05 March 2022

On Saturday, 05 March 2022 the Institutional Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) of East West University (EWU) organized a webinar workshop on “Capacity Building in Outcome-Based Education (OBE) Teaching Methods” for the faculty members of the departments of Social Relations, Sociology, Law, and Information Studies and Library Management. Professor Dr. Basanta Kumar Barmon, Director, IQAC, EWU delivered his welcome speech at the beginning of the program to the participants. Professor Dr. Muhammad Ziaulhaq Mamun, Pro-Vice Chancellor, East West University gave a motivational speech. He talked to the faculty members to develop a passion and make self-commitments to achieve the mission of their institutes and follow the outcome-based curriculum to promote OBE. Professor Dr. Md. Mobarak Hossain Khan, Chairperson, Dept. of Social Relations, Dr. Mumita Tanjeela, Chairperson and Assistant Professor, Dept. of Sociology, Dr. Md. Mehedi Hasan, Chairperson and Assistant Professor, Department of Law, and Dr. Dilara Begum, Chairperson and Associate Professor, Dept. of ISLM conducted their own respective sessions.

Professor Dr. Syed Ferhat Anwar, Academic Advisor, Professor Dr. A. K. Enamul Haque, Dean, Faculty of Business and Economics, Professor Dr. Bijoy Prashad Barua, Adjunct Professor, Dept. of Economics, and Professor Dr. Muhammad Ekramul Haque, Dept. of Law, University of Dhaka were present at the event as resource persons. At the end of the presentation of each group, the resource persons gave their valuable suggestions about the course learning outcomes, program learning outcomes, course curriculum design, development, teaching methods, and student assessment tools.

A total of twenty faculty members (four faculty members from the Dept. of Social Relations, three from Sociology, ten from Law, and the three faculty members from the dept. of ISLM) presented their own OBE teaching methods and student assessment tools. The senior faculty members of the four departments were also participated at the event. Professor Dr. Fouzia Mannan, Dean, Faculty of Liberal Arts and Social Sciences gave thanks to IQAC for organizing the program.

The participants expressed their gratitude to the EWU authority and IQAC for the smooth arrangement of the webinar. The participants found the program fruitful. At the end, the Director of IQAC wrapped up the program extending gratitude and thanks to the all of resource persons, session chairs, and faculty members for making the webinar workshop a complete success.
