EWU Law Students Win the Championship in the HROC Legal Skills Boot Camp





The Department of Law of East West University (EWU) proudly represented at the HROC Legal Skills Boot Camp 2025, held on 18–20 September 2025 at Suvarnagrama Amusement Park & Resorts, Rupganj, Narayanganj. Organized by the Human Rights Observation Center (HROC) under the theme “Learn. Link. Lead.”, the three-day residential program brought together 80 participants from 20 universities across Bangladesh to enhance their legal skills, human rights knowledge, and leadership capacity.
Four EWU students achieved remarkable success: Nafis Bin Nadim was part of the Champion Team winning the Team With Distinction Award; Nafis Bin Nadim's team also secured 2nd place in the Poster Presentation. Kazi Samsey Tabriz Mim received the Best Activities Excellence Award; while Afrin Salauddin and Mahmudul Hasan Maruf performed with distinction. Two students contributed as organizers: Tanjim Maliha Taha served as Head of Academics and Participants Management, and Hasin Abrar Sopnil worked as Officer of the Press & Media Team.
The Boot Camp featured diverse sessions on human rights, legal writing, legislative drafting, research, and advocacy, alongside interactive workshops, simulations, and team-based activities designed to build problem-solving, communication, and leadership skills. Participants engaged in mock exercises, debates, and collaborative projects, allowing them to apply classroom knowledge to real-life scenarios. Such experiences not only strengthened their academic foundation but also fostered teamwork, critical thinking, and community awareness.
EWU students expressed their heartfelt gratitude to Dr. Nabaat Tasnima Mahbub, Chairperson and Associate Professor, Department of Law, for her continuous support and encouragement that inspire them to strive for their best, and to Ms. Nadia Rahaman, Senior Lecturer, Department of Law for the invaluable guidance and mentorship that enabled them to represent the university with excellence on national platforms.
