Teachers’ Training Program to Enhance Teaching, Learning, and Research

The Institutional Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC), in collaboration with the Center for Research & Training of East West University (CRTEWU), has officially inaugurated a comprehensive and meticulously structured training program aimed at enhancing teaching methodologies, learning strategies, and research capabilities within the academic framework. This well-crafted program is specifically tailored for Senior Lecturers and Lecturers of the university. Participants will benefit from interactive workshops, expert-led sessions, and collaborative learning experiences that are designed to foster a culture of continuous improvement and academic excellence.

The inaugural ceremony was held at the S.M. Nousher Ali Lecture Gallery at the EWU campus on 24 April 2025. Professor Dr. Shams Rahman, the Vice Chancellor of EWU, graced the occasion as the Chief Guest. Professor Dr. Mohammad Ashik Mosaddik, Pro-Vice Chancellor, Professor Dr. Sufia Islam, Director of IQAC, and Professor Dr. Muhammed Shahriar Haque, Executive Director of CRTEWU, were also present at the event.

Professor Dr. Shams Rahman, Vice Chancellor, imparted valuable insights and practical strategies to the participating faculty members regarding effective teaching methodologies and impactful research initiatives. He passionately urged the new faculty members to fully immerse themselves in their academic journeys, emphasizing the importance of cultivating a strong intellectual curiosity and a commitment to scholarly excellence. Prof. Rahman encouraged them to explore innovative teaching techniques, collaborate with peers, and actively engage with students to create a vibrant learning environment that promotes critical thinking and creativity.

The gathering included several notable attendees: Professor Dr. Ahmed Wasif Reza, Dean of the Faculty of Sciences and Engineering and Additional Director of the IQAC; Dr. Basanta Kumar Barmon, Additional Director of IQAC at EWU; as well as chairpersons from various academic departments and officials from the IQAC of the university.

Following the inaugural ceremony, module-1 of the teachers’ training program, Quality Assurance and Quality Enhancement in Higher Education: Bangladesh National Qualifications Framework (BNQF), was briefly discussed by Professor Dr. Sanjoy Kumar Adhikary, Former Quality Assurance Specialist, University Grants Commission of Bangladesh and Bangladesh Accreditation Council. A total of 38 faculty members participated in the program. In a question-and-answer session, the participants expressed a strong interest in further expanding their knowledge and skills, showcasing their commitment to continuous learning and improvement.
