Winter Gifts Distribution for the students of East West Bidya Niketon

East-West University Sociology Club (EWUSC) and Brighter Tomorrow Foundation (BTF), an organisation working for suicide prevention, jointly arranged a ‘Drawing and Winter Gifts Distribution’ function on 24/11/2019 at the campus for the 57 underprivileged children studying at ‘East West Bidya Niketon’. The function was inaugurated by Professor Dr. Mohammed Farashuddin, Chief Advisor and Founder Vice-Chancellor of East-West University (EWU).

Chaired by BTF President Joysree Zaman, the programme was attended by Professor Dr. Mohamed Ruhul Amin, Dean, Faculty of Sciences and Engineering, Dr. Fouzia Mannan, Dean, Faculty of Liberal Arts and Social Sciences, Executive Committee Members of BTF, Principal of East West Bidya Niketon  and faculty members of the Department of Sociology, among others.

Professor Dr. Mohammed Farashuddin said that underprivileged children as not the burden to the society and they have rights to grow up in safer places in society. He also urged both the government and the non-government organisations to work cohesively for ensuring all fundamentals rights and other necessities for them. Joysree Zaman, on the other hand, advised the teachers and guardians to be careful about the mental health of children to enable them to grow up in a congenial atmosphere.
