Dr. Mumita Tanjeela Publishes Book on Women and Climate Resilience in Bangladesh

We are proud to share that Dr. Mumita Tanjeela, Associate Professor in the Department of Sociology at East West University, has published her new book:
Rising Tide, Resilient Voices: Bangladeshi Women Battling Climate Change, published by Common Ground Research Networks, University of Illinois Research Park, USA.
This important work sheds light on the vital role of Bangladeshi women in climate action. Drawing on extensive field research across four of the country’s most climate-vulnerable regions, Dr. Tanjeela explores how women transform their lived experiences into powerful strategies for resilience. From organizing communities before cyclones to pioneering agricultural innovations in salinity-affected areas, the book presents women not as victims of climate change, but as leaders and agents of transformation. Blending feminist theory with compelling real-life narratives, it calls for greater recognition and support of women’s leadership in tackling environmental crises.
We warmly congratulate Dr. Tanjeela on this remarkable achievement and her outstanding contribution to the fields of gender, climate, and sustainability studies.
