  • JOB PURPOSE
  • Under Resilience Unit in Cox’s Bazar sub-office, the incumbent will support the implementation of Resilience programme for refugee community by providing support and technical analysis to policy and programme activities that effectively meet WFP Bangladesh’s vision “Food systems in Bangladesh are shock resilient and inclusive for achieving zero hunger and reducing malnutrition” through resilience-focused adaptive food system approach. 
  • KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES (not all-inclusive)
  • Under the direct supervision of Programme Policy Officer, with overall guidance form the Head of Resilience, the incumbent will be responsible for the following duties (not all inclusive, nor exhaustive): 
  • Contributes towards programme planning, management and monitoring project for resilience activities for refugee communities, ensuring alignment with WFP’s policies and guidance;
  • Support the management and implementation of donor-specific projects/activities, ensuring timely resource allocation, implementation and budget utilization and quality reports; 
  • Maintain close liaison and operational relationship with the Government of Bangladesh, in particular, with the MoDMR and the RRRC Office respectively for smooth implementation of the project; 
  • Contribute to programme planning, including design of appropriate interventions, targeting, and formulation of project activities in conjunction with NGO partners and Food Security and Skills Development and Livelihoods sector and other relevant stakeholders; 
  • Liaise with internal counterparts to support effective collaboration, implementation and monitoring of ongoing project activities; 
  • Work with NGO partners to build their capacity, ensuring that all programmatic activities are delivered to the desired quality; 
  • Undertake regular field visits to follow up on the implementation of programme activities and monitoring, and address any gaps as necessary;
  • Ensure consistent application of minimum standard commitments to gender and diversity, and accountability to affected population throughout the project cycle in close coordination with the Protection Sector, Age and Disability Inclusion Working Group and other relevant stakeholders in Cox’s Bazar; 
  • Manage, supervise and provide support to the team, providing practical advice and guidance, to contribute to delivering objectives to agreed standards and deadlines; 
  • Facilitate visits and briefings for donors, government delegations and other missions; 
  • Follow standard emergency preparedness practices to ensure WFP is able to quickly respond and deploy needed resources to affected areas at the onset of the crisis; 
  • Perform any other duty as required. 
  • STANDARD MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
  • Education: Advanced university degree in one of the following disciplines: social sciences, Law, international development, development economics, or another related field like international relations, human rights, or political science.
  • Language: Fluency (level C) in English language.
  • Experience: At least 5 years of solid and responsible work experience with humanitarian or development sector; a minimum of 3 years of professional relevant working experience in programme.
