Nabila Farhin is a Senior Lecturer in the Department of Law at East West University, Bangladesh, and an advocate of the Supreme Court of Bangladesh. Her career is diverse, encompassing roles as an officer in the Judge Advocate General's office of the Bangladesh Army and as a lecturer at several prestigious universities in Bangladesh. Ms. Farhin's academic journey is marked by excellence. She holds an LLB (Hons) and an LLM (Thesis) from the University of Chittagong, securing top merit positions and an MSS in Industrial Relations and Labour Studies from the University of Dhaka. She also holds a Diploma in Economic, Social and Development Rights from the Kathmandu School of Law, Nepal.
Throughout her academic career, Ms. Farhin has earned several awards and grants, reflecting her commitment to legal scholarship and research. Her awards include the New Scholar Committee Grant from the Jobs with Justice Education Fund, USA, in 2024 and the best paper awards at several prestigious conferences in Bangladesh and India. She co-authored a book chapter on the impact of COVID-19 on persons with disabilities in Bangladesh, published in the International Handbook of Disaster Research, Springer, Singapore. She has also co-authored award-winning papers on child workers in Bangladesh and space governance. Ms. Farhin has published various journal articles and has actively participated in many international conferences. She has also led several research projects funded by both national and international funders, showcasing her academic excellence. Her research interests span Labour and Employment Laws, Health Laws, Disaster Laws, Space Laws and Gender Justice.
As a seasoned mooter, Ms. Farhin has represented her alma mater, the University of Chittagong, in several Moot Court competitions and continues to contribute to the field as a trainer and coach. She has served as a national-level adjudicator in several distinguished moot court competitions in Bangladesh. Ms. Farhin has led the East West University team in the prestigious Philip C. Jessup International Law Moot Court Competition multiple times, where her team secured different awards.
Ms. Farhin has been a member of the Bangladesh Bar Council since 2013. She has also been a Moderator of the East West University Rotaract Club since 2023.
