Dr. Tamanna Sharmin Kabir is a Senior Lecturer in the Department of English at East West University, Bangladesh. She earned her Ph.D. in Educational Studies with a specialization in Innovative Learning Technologies from the University of Nebraska–Lincoln, USA, where she also completed a Graduate Certificate in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages (TESOL). She holds both her MA and BA degrees in English from the University of Dhaka.
Dr. Kabir brings over a decade of teaching experience in higher education across Bangladesh and the United States. Her research centers on the integration of educational technology in language education, particularly in the areas of Computer Assisted Language Learning and Teaching, TESOL, and innovative pedagogical practices for English language learning. Her doctoral research investigated the role of Digital Storytelling as a culturally responsive and decolonial pedagogical approach to English language education in Bangladesh.
Her scholarly work has appeared in peer-reviewed journals and international conference proceedings, and she has presented her research at numerous national and international academic conferences. She was selected as a Fellow of the Nebraska Governance and Technology Center at the University of Nebraska–Lincoln (Class of 2023) and was invited as a panelist at the International Graduate Student Panel of the M3/TLTE Language, Migration and Education Conference held at the University of Nebraska–Lincoln in September 2023. In recognition of her academic achievements, she has received multiple fellowships from the University of Nebraska–Lincoln and was awarded the A. Samad (MA Leeds) Memorial Gold Medal from the University of Dhaka for attaining the highest CGPA in the MA program.
