Notice Details

EWU (RO) 18/26-352                                                                                                                    28 June 2026

In line with the government plans to make a foreign language mandatory as a third language (L3) in the national curriculum, East West University (EWU) has also decided to introduce Japanese Language Course as an Open General Education Course (OGEC) in all the undergraduate programs.

With the above backdrop, as per request of the Japanese Universities Alumni Association in Bangladesh (JUAAB), EWU authority has agreed to host a ‘Japanese Language Proficiency Test (JLPT)’ at EWU Campus which will be jointly organized by JUAAB as well as the Embassy of Japan in Bangladesh on Sunday, 5 July 2026 (from 12:00 pm to 02:30 pm) at EWU Campus. There is an obligation to conduct JLPT globally on the same day. Therefore, all classes of Undergraduate Programs scheduled for that day will remain suspended. However, make-up classes may be arranged either online or in person on a later day at the sole discretion of the respective faculty members. Examinations/Lab classes cannot be taken online. All academic/administrative offices will remain open on 5 July 2026 as usual.

With the kind approval of the Vice Chancellor, this is for information and necessary action by all concerned.
