EWU Law Student Win Championship at NSU Undergraduate Law Symposium Spring 2026

The Department of Law, East West University, warmly congratulates Talha Jubayer, a student of the 9th Semester of the Department of Law for achieving a remarkable milestone by claiming the Championship at the North South University Center for Legal Research (NSU CLR) Undergraduate Law Symposium Spring 2026 on 16 May 2026. The inter-university academic event was organized by the Department of Law and the Center for Legal Research, North South University, and provided a prestigious platform for undergraduate law students across Bangladesh to engage in scholarly discourse and present original legal research. Talha Jubayer represented East West University at this competition as a selected paper presenter.

The symposium invited the submission of brief papers on any aspect of the Bangladeshi legal system, comparative law, international legal matters, or interdisciplinary study of law. It served as a significant forum for undergraduate legal scholars to present their research findings, engage with peers, and contribute to contemporary legal discourse.

The symposium received paper submissions from undergraduate law students across universities in Bangladesh. Following a rigorous review process, only 15 papers were selected for presentation out of all submissions received. Talha Jubayer’s paper, titled “Mob Lynching and the Constitutional Breakdown of the State’s Monopoly on Violence in Bangladesh,” was among those selected, reflecting the originality, analytical depth, and academic merit of his research. Following his paper presentation, Talha Jubayer was declared the Champion of the North South University Undergraduate Law Symposium Spring 2026 — the highest distinction awarded at the event. Competing against participants from multiple universities across Bangladesh presenting on a wide range of legal topics, his paper on the constitutional dimensions of mob lynching was recognized for its timely relevance to Bangladesh’s legal landscape..

In recognition of this outstanding achievement, Talha Jubayer was presented with the championship crest, certificate and prize money of BDT 9,000.

The Department of Law, East West University, takes immense pride in the success of Talha Jubayer at the North South University Undergraduate Law Symposium Spring 2026 and the Department looks forward to his continued excellence in future academic and legal competitions at both the national and international levels.
