Department of GEB Hosts a Seminar on Biosafety and Biosecurity in Biotechnology

The Department of Genetic Engineering and Biotechnology of East West University (EWU) arranged a seminar on “Biosafety and Biosecurity in Biotechnology” on Wednesday, 21 June 2023 at the S. M. Nousher Ali Lecture Gallery of the University.
The keynote speaker for the seminar was Dr. Asadul Ghani, Head of Bio-safety & BSL-3 Laboratory, LSSD Special Activities Laboratory Sciences and Services Division, icddr,b. Dr. Ghani is a researcher and educator in the fields of Molecular Microbiology, Biotechnology, and Genetic Engineering. He is a trainer in the Asia-Pacific region to biosafety professionals, researchers, and laboratory workers.
The seminar was attended by Professor Dr. Muhammad Ziaulhaq Mamun, Pro-Vice Chancellor, EWU, and Dr. Suraia Nusrin, Associate Professor and Chairperson
Department of Genetic Engineering and Biotechnology of EWU. The program was followed by a question-and-answer session. Faculty Members, Students, Officers, and Staff of EWU were present at the event.
