Department of Information Studies Hosts Seminar on "From Research to Practice: Information Behavior Lessons from Bangladesh, Canada, and the U.S."

The Department of Information Studies, East West University (EWU) successfully organized a seminar titled "From Research to Practice: Information Behavior Lessons from Bangladesh, Canada, and the U.S." on 02 August 2026 (Sunday) at the Shelley A. Mubdi Lecture Gallery (550), East West University.
The seminar featured an inspiring keynote address delivered by Dr. Nafiz Zaman Shuva, Assistant Professor at the School of Information Studies, Queens College, City University of New York (CUNY), USA. In his keynote speech, Dr. Shuva highlighted diversified and contemporary topics in Information Studies, including information seeking behavior in the age of artificial intelligence, media and information literacy, digital transformation, research trends in information studies, research methodologies for information studies and other areas relevant to our students and faculty members.
The event was graced by Professor Dr. Mohammed Farashuddin, Honorable Chairperson, Board of Trustees, East West University, as the Chief Guest; Air Cdre (Retd) Ishfaq Ilahi Choudhury, Treasurer, East West University, as the Special Guest; and Professor Dr. Dilara Begum, Chairperson, Department of Information Studies, as the Program Chair.
Bringing together faculty members, students, alumni, librarians, and information science professionals, the seminar served as a platform for dynamic discussion, critical reflection, and valuable knowledge exchange.
