East West University Bids Farewell to Treasurer Air Cdre (Retd.) Ishfaq Ilahi Choudhury

East West University (EWU) organized a heartfelt farewell ceremony to honor Air Cdre (Retd) Ishfaq Ilahi Choudhury upon the successful completion of his four-year tenure as the University's Treasurer. On August 10, 2026, the event, arranged by the Board of Trustees, celebrated Mr. Choudhury’s remarkable contributions and dedicated service to the institution and the broader higher education sector in Bangladesh.
The ceremony was attended by Professor Dr. Mohammed Farashuddin, the Chairperson of the Board of Trustees; Mr. Nowshad Shamsul Arefin, Member of the Board of Trustees; Professor Dr. Shams Rahman, the Vice Chancellor, along with their respective spouses. Also present were the Pro-Vice Chancellor, Deans, Registrar, Proctor, Academic Departmental Heads, and Administrative Section Heads.
Mr. Choudhury leaves behind an illustrious career spanning 23 years in Bangladesh's private university sector following his retirement from the Bangladesh Air Force. Before assuming the role of Treasurer, he also served EWU with distinction as its Registrar, playing a pivotal role in the university's administrative excellence and academic growth.
During the program, leading figures from the university shared their memories and expressed deep appreciation for Mr. Choudhury’s leadership, integrity, and unwavering commitment to academic governance. Speakers highlighted his discipline, mentorship, and the enduring impact of his long service on the university community.
As a gesture of gratitude and honor, tokens of appreciation were presented to Mr. Choudhury and his wife by the university leadership. The event concluded with warm wishes for his health, happiness, and future endeavors.
