East West University Hosts a Research Seminar on Student Mental Health and Academic Performance

The East West University Center for Research and Training (EWUCRT) hosted a research seminar focusing on the intersection of mental health and academic outcomes among university students. The event was held at the EWUCRT seminar room on 02 July 2026. The seminar was officially chaired by Professor Dr. M. Ashik Mosaddik, Pro-Vice Chancellor of East West University (EWU). Proceedings commenced with an introductory speech by Professor Dr. Md. Sohel Rana, Director of EWUCRT, who formally welcomed the attendees and introduced the distinguished interdisciplinary research team behind the study.
The key feature of the event was a joint keynote presentation titled "Mental Health Profile and Academic Performance among Undergraduate Students of East West University.” The study's insights were co-presented by Dr. Md. Mobarak Hossain Khan, Professor, and Dr. Marzia Zaman Sultana, Senior Lecturer, both from the Department of Social Relations at EWU. The comprehensive research project also included Mr. Qazi Maksudur Rahman, Lecturer in the Department of Social Relations at EWU, and Dr. Md. Shaheen Mollah, Assistant Professor in the Department of Psychology at the University of Dhaka.
Following the academic presentations, the floor was opened for a lively question-and-answer session, allowing faculty and enthusiastic students to engage directly with the researchers on the study's methodologies and real-world implications for campus wellness. Faculty members, EWUCRT officials, and enthusiastic students attended the seminar.
