EWU and UIU Sign MoU to Strengthen Research Collaboration

East West University (EWU) and United International University (UIU) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) aimed at establishing a strong and sustainable framework for collaborative research. The agreement reflects a shared commitment to advancing academic excellence, fostering innovation, and promoting knowledge exchange with meaningful national and global impact.
Under the MoU, joint research initiatives will be coordinated by the Center for Research and Training (CRT) at East West University and the Institute for Advanced Research (IAR) at United International University. The partnership seeks to encourage multidisciplinary collaboration through joint research projects, capacity-building programs, and co-authored scholarly publications.
The MoU was formally signed on December 17, 2025, at United International University by Professor Dr. Shams Rahman, Vice Chancellor of East West University, and Professor Dr. Abul Kashem Mia, Vice Chancellor of United International University.
Highlighting the importance of the collaboration, Professor Dr. Shams Rahman noted that the partnership would create new opportunities for high-impact research and enable faculty members and researchers to contribute more effectively to societal development. Professor Dr. Abul Kashem Mia emphasized that the agreement aligns with UIU’s strategic vision of strengthening research excellence through meaningful institutional collaboration.
The implementation and coordination of activities under the MoU were facilitated by Professor Dr. Ahmed Wasif Reza, Dean of the Faculty of Sciences and Engineering at EWU, and Professor Dr. M. Rezwan Khan, Executive Director of the Institute for Advanced Research (IAR) at UIU.
This strategic alliance marks an important step toward fostering a collaborative research culture and enhancing academic excellence across Bangladesh’s higher education sector.
