EWU Celebrated International Women’s Day

East West University (EWU) celebrated International Women’s Day with colorful programs at EWU Campus, Aftabnagar, Dhaka on Sunday, 08 March 2020 on the occasion of International Women’s Day. The University has arranged a vibrant rally at the Campus area and Aftabnagar Main Road.  The rally was attended by Prof. Dr. M.M. Shahidul Hassan, Vice Chancellor, Prof. Dr. Muhammad Ziaulhaq Mamun, Pro Vice Chancellor, A.Z.M. Shafiqul Alam, Treasurer and Faculty Members, Admin Officers  and students of the university have participated in the rally.   

The event was followed by a discussion session. The main theme of the discussion session was “I am Generation Equality: Realizing Women's Rights”. The discussion session was attended by among others, Prof. Dr. Sadeka Halim, Dean, Faculty of Social Sciences, University of Dhaka, Prof. Dr. Muhammad Ziaulhaq Mamun, Pro Vice-Chancellor of EWU. Dr. Fouzia Mannan, Dean,  Faculty of Liberal Arts and Social Sciences, EWU, delivered welcome remarks on the occasion. The program was chaired by Prof. Dr. Mohammed Farashuddin, Chief Adviser, EWU and a former governor of the Bangladesh Bank.

In the discussion, they highlighted the progress of women in Bangladesh in the last decade. While urging all to be vocal about women's rights to equal participation was guaranteed in family, society, workplaces and politics. A large number of faculty members, officers and students of the university were present on the occasion.
