EWU Paid Last Tribute to its one of the Founders, Late Razia Samad

Mrs. Razia Samad, a founder and Founder Member of the Board of Trustees of East West University (EWU) breathed her last in Washington DC, USA on 13 November 2019, Wednesday at 7:00 am (Bangladesh time 6 pm). (Inna Lillahe Wa Inna Ilahi Rajiun). She died at the age of 72 years. She left behind a son, a daughter and a host of relatives and admirers. Late Razia Samad was the eldest daughter of the Child Specialist late Sultan Ahmed and wife of former Defense Secretary late Abdus Samad.  All members of East West University family expressed their deep condolences at Mrs. Razia Samad’s death and prayed to the Almighty for the salvation of the departed soul.

Her first Namaz-e-Janaza was held on 18 November 2019, at 11:15 am in the premises of EWU at Aftabnagar, Dhaka and was attended by the Chairperson of Board of Trustees, EWU, Chief Adviser of EWU, and Members of the Board of Trustees, EWU, Vice Chancellor, Treasurer, Deans, Faculty Members, Admin Officers, Staff and Students of EWU. Some prominent persons of the country like M Syeduzzaman, Former Minister for Finance, Government of Bangladesh, Abdul-Muyeed Chowdhury, Former Secretary, Government of Bangladesh, Abdur Rouf Chowdhury, Chairman, Rangs Group and Bank Asia Ltd, also attended the Namaz-e-Janaza. Her second Namaz-e-Janaza was held at Azad Mosque in Gulshan, Dhaka. She was laid to rest in the 'Banani' graveyard.
