EWUCRT Hosts 144th Research Seminar Exposing Key Demand Factors for Battery-Powered Rickshaws

The East West University Center for Research and Training (EWUCRT) successfully hosted its 144th research seminar on October 01, 2026, at the EWUCRT Seminar Room. The event featured an insightful presentation titled "Factors Affecting Quantity Demanded of Battery-Powered Rickshaw," shedding light on critical economic and transport trends surrounding urban electric mobility. The seminar was chaired by Professor Dr. Shams Rahman, Vice Chancellor of East West University (EWU). Proceedings commenced with opening welcome remarks delivered by Professor Dr. Md. Sohel Rana, Executive Director of EWUCRT.

The research was conducted by a distinguished panel of researchers: Dr. Md. Abdullah Al Mashrur, Assistant Professor, Department of Economics, East West University, Mr. Ehsanur Rauf Prince, Senior Lecturer, Department of Economics, East West University, Mr. Sadman Saber Chowdhury, Senior Lecturer, Department of Economics, East West University, Mr. Md Abdus Sattar Moin, Senior Lecturer, Department of Economics, East West University, Dr. Shaikh Tanvir Hossain, Assistant Professor, Department of Economics and Social Sciences (ESS), BRAC University, Among them, Dr. Md. Abdullah Al Mashrur presented the keynote paper.

Following the keynote presentation, Dr. Nasrin Akter, Professor, Department of Marketing, University of Dhaka, served as the main discussant, offering expert commentary on the study's findings and consumer behavior implications. The floor was then opened for a vibrant and interactive Q&A session with attendees.

The seminar concluded with formal remarks and a Vote of Thanks delivered by the Vice Chancellor, Professor Dr. Shams Rahman. The event drew a notable gathering of academics and administration, including Professor Dr. M. Ashik Mosaddik, Pro-Vice Chancellor of East West University, alongside faculty members, researchers, students, and EWUCRT officials.
