East West University Community stands with COVID-19 affected families

The university community and spontaneous initiatives:

1.   Contribution of an amount of Taka 2,00,000.00 (Two Lakh) to the “Relief and Welfare Fund” of Honorable Prime Minister. 

2.   Mr. Farooque B. Chaudhury, Member, Board of Trustee, East West University has distributed an amount Taka 56,000 in cash among the needy people living adjacent to East West University campus in Aftabnagar.

3.   A group of EWU students has taken an initiative to help the needy during this crisis time.  The Department of Economics is handling fundraising and distribution of food bags. So far they have distributed 643 food bags. Academic departments have so far raised BDT 5,51,890.00 (Five Lakh Fifty One Thousand Eight Hundred and Ninety). 

4.  Two other voluntary groups led by two female faculty members are distributing food bags. Teachers and staff are also helping them by donating money.

5.  Overwhelming Response to the appeal of voluntary contributions of one day's salary by the East West University community to help the people severely affected by the COVID 19 pandemic. 

The members of the EWU family are showing their very high level of human quality and wholehearted solidarity with the ill-fated sufferers of the ‘Corona Crisis’.
