Professor Wasif’s Seminar Enlightens Researchers on Writing and Publishing Research Papers

The seminar hosted by the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) Computer Society Student Branch Chapter (SBC) of East West University (EWU) proved to be an excellent chance for researchers to improve their understanding of writing and publishing great research articles. The keynote speaker was Dr. Ahmed Wasif Reza, a well-known professor from EWU's Department of Computer Science and Engineering (CSE). The event began at 4.50 PM on June 14th, 2023, in Room No. 242 of the Razia Samad Lecture Gallery. 

The guests gladly assembled under the direction of the IEEE Student Branch Executive Committee to benefit from Professor Wasif’s significant expertise in research paper writing and publication. Professor Dr. Ahmed Wasif Reza, who also serves as the Additional Director of the Institutional Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) at EWU, delivered his presentation with a wonderful combination of professionalism and casualness. 

The main focus of Professor Wasif’s talk revolved around rectifying common mistakes made while writing research papers. He emphasized the correct usage of references, highlighting the importance of employing suitable references and avoiding unreliable sources. Professor Wasif effectively clarified the distinction between acceptable and unacceptable reference materials, ensuring that attendees understood how to discern credible sources to strengthen their research. 

In addition to addressing reference usage, Professor Wasif provided invaluable insights on uploading research papers and avoiding plagiarism. Furthermore, Professor Wasif informed the audience about the dangers of self-plagiarism. The seminar left a lasting impression on the attendees, equipping them with essential knowledge and guidelines to excel in research paper writing and publication. Professor Wasif’s expertise, combined with his ability to communicate complex concepts in a comprehensible manner, made the seminar a resounding success. 

The occasion provided researchers with an exceptional forum to deepen their comprehension of research paper writing and publication, enabling them to more productively contribute to the academic and scientific community.
