As part of the Teachers’ Training Program on “Teaching, Learning, and Research”, the Institutional Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) and the Center for Research and Training (CRT) at East West University have jointly organized Module 3: “Teaching Philosophy and Integrity; Teaching Responsibilities; Effective Teaching” for the Lecturers and Senior Lecturers on 15 May 2025. The program started with a welcome address by Professor Dr. Sufia Islam, Director of IQAC.

Professor Dr. Siddiqur Rahman Osmani, Professor of Economics at Ulster University, Belfast, United Kingdom, conducted the training session as a resource person and shared his lifelong teaching philosophy with the participants. Professor Osmani mentioned that teaching philosophy fosters critical thinking, inclusivity, and a lifelong passion for learning. He also added that teaching responsibilities include delivering clear, well-structured content, providing timely feedback, and supporting diverse student needs. Effective teaching keeps students interested, helps them think for themselves, and supports their success.

Professor Dr. Mohammed Farashuddin, Hon’ble Chairperson, Board of Trustees, EWU, attended the event to inspire the young faculty members and delivered a motivational speech on the teaching philosophy. Additionally, he expressed his gratitude to Professor Osmani for visiting EWU and conducting this valuable session on teaching philosophy with the young faculty members of EWU.
