Webinar Workshop on “Orientation Program and Faculty Development” on 07 August 2021

The Institutional Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) of East West University (EWU) organized a day-long webinar on “Orientation Program and Faculty Development” for the new faculty members of EWU who have recently joined in summer 2021, which was held on Saturday, 07 August 2021. The orientation program began with a welcome address by the director of IQAC Professor Dr. Basanta Kumar Barmon.

Professor Dr. Muhammad Ziaulhaq Mamun, Pro-Vice Chancellor, East West University gave an inspirational speech on quality assurance in higher education for the new faculty members and motivated them about enriching their teaching skills. The Pro-Vice Chancellor thanked the Director of IQAC for organizing the orientation program and faculty development workshop.

The distinguished speakers presented their papers. Professor Dr. Mohamed Ruhul Amin, Dean, Faculty of Sciences and Engineering focused on the topic “Service Rules of East West University” whereas, Professor Dr. Fouzia Mannan, Dean, Faculty of Liberal Arts and Social Sciences talked about “Service Rules and Career Path of East West University”. Professor Dr. A. K. Enamul Haque, Dean, Faculty of Business and Economics briefly talked about the “Teaching Learning Methods and Practices” in higher education, and Professor Dr. Khairul Alam, Department of Electrical and Electronic Engineering (EEE) briefly talked on Teaching Learning and Quality in Higher Education”. The speakers focused on various aspects of service rules including administrative rules and regulations at EWU, teaching ethics, quality of  higher education, active and interactive teaching methods, course design, outcome-based education, curriculum development and rubrics, classroom management, advising and ways of dealing with students at the university system.                                                                                                                                                                                                                                    

Twelve new faculty members from eight departments participated in this webinar. The participants thanked the EWU authority and IQAC for organizing this orientation program and faculty development workshop. Concluding the orientation program, the director expressed his immense gratitude to all the respected speakers and new faculty members for making the webinar workshop a complete success.
